Fujeira Stamp Scandal

You would expect that if an official announcement from the Fujeira Post Office (Announcement 1/Announcement 2) condemned "...labels...privately printed by Jacques Anhoury and/or George Hage and/or Middle East Stamp Company of Lebanon" that no reputable organisation would recognise them.

Yes, you've guessed it - our old friends at the Michel catalogue are quite happy to list these "labels" as stamps and once more bring the world of philately into disrepute

There they are in their new volume 10.

We can only imagine how the directors of the stamp organizations involved in the distribution of these labels convinced Michel to put them in the catalogue but it comes as no surprise based on Michel's previous willingness to lend credibility to waste paper masquerading as stamps.

We are still investigating and we'll bring you the full details of who, why, when, where and how much when we get the details.
