Have
your cake Herzig
turns to comedy...because he must be joking! It
seems that Mr. Herzig of Herrick Stamp Company and Kent Research has a fine
sense of humour. He has hit on a business idea which will appeal to everyone
who likes to laugh. All
you have to do is order large quantities of stamps from a reputable dealer,
hold onto them for as long as you want to, sell what you can then write to
the dealer and say you didn't order them after all. You
then say the dealer can have whatever is left returned to him as long as he
pays the carriage costs. If he doesn't pay then Mr. Herzig gets to keep all
the stamps. Voila,
Mr. Herzig has had his cake and eaten it too. The
company that has suffered the comic antics of Mr. Herzig has official orders
for all the stamps detailed in the correspondence and the stamps were not
supplied on a sale or return basis. We
encourage all customers of the Herrick Stamp Company and Kent Research to
follow Mr. Herzig's example. Order
large quantities of stamps from his company but make sure you don't pay for
them. Hold onto them for 3 or 4 years then write and tell him you don't like
them anymore but will send them back to him if he pays you a large sum of
money. How much is up to you. We're sure that Mr. Herzig will find it hilarious. More
comedy Our
source has also offered us another fine example of Mr. Herzig's highly developed
sense of humour. Our
source was in hospital. He was suffering from a thrombosis and was surprised
to receive a visit from an employee of whacky William. You might think the
visit would be a gesture of sympathy for his plight...but no, it wasn't. The
sensitive Mr. Herzig had sent his employee to demand supplies of stamps as
the man lay on a hospital bed fearful for his life. He continued to pester
our source for some time until it became apparent that he was not going to
get what he wanted and might actually cause the untimely end of our source
if he continued. What
a warm human being Mr. Herzig is! Chad
fakes As
well as liking a joke, Mr. Herzig also likes to sell fake stamps through his
company, Kent Research. Even
though in his letter to our source he deplores the fact that his stamps are
not catalogued, he is perfectly willing to sell these fakes and others of
Ivory Coast, Benin , Mauretania etc., without a second thought... and at face
value! Yet
again we ask, what does the International Federation of Stamp Dealers' Associations
(IFSDA) think about this? They seem utterly unconcerned that one of their
members, the ASDA, is harbouring a dealer like Herrick? Why
don't the President and the Vice-President of IFSDA, Mr. Lars Boes (Denmark)
and Mr. Sam Malamud (USA), and the President of ASDA, Mrs Elizabeth Pope resign
and leave the job to people who are serious about it, if they're not capable
of controlling the activities of their members... ...or
do they enjoy Mr. Herzig's jokes? |
